Description

Thanks for stopping by - here is something a bit different.. a friend wanted a background for his 3 LCD desktop at 3072x1024. This version is sized down a bit. "Tau Ceti Dawn" was rendered in POV-Ray with post work in Photoshop. The planet features procedural clouds and an atmosphere with scattering modeled in. The moon is entirely procedural. The planet and moon were rendered with radiosity and the composited against a background created with some of Chris Colefax's excellent 'galaxy' effects.

Grins @ Kattey - the sun is just off camera from the top of the picture. There's a small version with the sun in shot that I used for reference in placing the flare.. as the sun is shining on the lenses I thought it still had some accuracy ;-)
