French corvette "La Nereide" searching a passage to Thule, 1766...
When I was a student in Paris, I used to dream before the model of the ship "l'Aurore". I've got the monography of it, but I'm not able to build my own model... Nevertheless, I've imagined a story with her. Now the corvette is named "La Nereide", and commanded by Le Chevalier de Kerglas, who is supposed to be one of my ancestors... ;-)
Thanks to Faveral, she may sail on our virtual roads. She is looking for Thule, now, which is supposed to exist outside the Polar circle !
This one of the first things I've bought here, and one of the first images I've made in 3D. It might not be so impressive as if it was built with Bryce or other programs, but I like it very much, even if it hadn't any kind of success here... I've decided to repost it for my friend Karma Song who enjoys Arctic landscapes !
