Description
Well what a time we look forward to each year, or is that Cringe? I can never remember which. I should have named this Image of me GrizzleLock and not Maylocks Xmas but what da hay it was Christmas.
I have taken to going out in the Forest each year by myself as a way yo connect back into the Universe as sometimes it is so very easy to get lost in that Yull tide Spirit that sometimes is not really all that fun the way we make it more then it should be. So I have taken to going out in Nature and get back some of the lost feelings I think we loose during the year. For me Christmas is a time of the year that should be year round with giving and helping people like I do each day when I can, and not just once a year and then you turn your back on people the rest of the year. Try hitch hiking outside a Church to get home after church lets out, and you will find yourself still standing there after the pasture/Minister has left and no more cars in the parking lot. What ever happened to that spirit people say they feel for each other?
Yesterday someone got upset with me for coming down on Christians, but I think they do it to themselves as if they truly did what they believed we would not be in this mess on every level today.
So for me and every day I keep the Yull tide Spirit close to my heart and try and help people with less then me both in body and in mind, and I challenge the rest of the world to do the same. I am not depressed but Angry at the way we treat each other in this world, and other then the basic greed that runs it all, are the people that call themselves Christians and it is to them that I reach out and say enough already guys, lets get it the frack together now. Get over the pettiness that religion seems to bring to the world and give it up. Lets save this Planet first, then decide where to go from there. But the Worlds religions are killing us as a Species and it is way past time to fix that fact, GROWING UP is now the time. And take responsibilities for our actions and not look to a Santa Claus or a God for them to fix what We/You broke to begin with. OK I have had my say, so what are we going to do about it is what you have to ask yourself now from now on each day of the rest of your life, what are you going to do about it?????????
This Planet is almost dead and all we do is fight over who's God is better. Answer, none of them are so get over it, God is inside you and always has been.

Wow, you summed up most of my belief system in a few paragraphs! I am a "Spiritual" person, but not "Religious". Because of the hypocrisy you just mentioned. I don't attend church, but we do charity work through our friends church, as well as through other channels on our own. The part about the woods really resonates with me/us, my wife and I always refer to a walk in the woods as "Going to church". Our cathedral arches are made of oak branches. I have been tossing an idea around in my head, for a piece that directly address's your point on "My God VS your God", but I have been too chicken to post it... you sir, have inspired me to do it. Peace to you and yours!

Right on!!! I think you've said exactly what a lot of us feel, and you said it eloquently!!

I do not debate religion on any level. Everyone is "entitled" and that's one of the two reasons why we hauled our happy butts onto wooden boats and faced death at sea and an uncertain future in a new land to found this country...(can't speak for the rest of the world here, but...) and so, I might get angry with you for saying my dog is ugly but I'll never get angry with you for saying you don't agree with my religious choice. BTW, you look much as I thought you would. Good self portrait. Very real.

LOL, I am so happy to be able to inspire people, even if just a few to start, smiles as it can only grow /bows Happy new year to all of us. And yes it does take conviction to state and even more live the Talk, but that is what it is all about I think Walking the Talk and showing others that yes it does not have to be that way, so I do try and live the example to varying degrees of Success to be sure, but I work at it hard and that is all any Man or Woman can ask of each other in life. Glad to see more like me, but I knew that /winks. /Grins Maylock aka DT

Well, I do practice my religion..the love your neighbor part is essence of it. I am happy you do that and have spoken your feelings here. Nature is certainly a reconnection and a living event..something I love as you apparently do. Yours is a strong comment and yes, I do disagree in some points. As for the main point made, yes, agreed. Thanks for bringing this photo to us, a strong statement when combined with the text.

Well spoken. I sympathise with your every word and do my best to walk the talk. :) We would all do well to spend some time with ourselves in the woods, finding again our true selves and the true symbiosis that we never can escape from. I am moved by this text of yours. Thank you. Also very nice to see you in this fine portrait.
