Firstly I may be wrong, but I don't often see images uploaded on this site that use Softimage, so that for starters makes a change and secondly I totally agree with the realism of this image. Is is very impressive although if I am being honest the eyes and the cap don't seem as real. Perhaps it is the textures. Eyes are so difficult to do. Did you use a cap because you could not create sufficient hair or did you just want to use a cap? just curious. Excellent work.

First of all, Id like to say, this is amazing, and I wish I could see more artists around here producing this calibur of work. Nice job. The lighting and skin shader looks fantastic. Do you model your characters from scratch, or is this one from DAZ? I agree with UWN on the eye comment though. Eyes are such an important part of making a character look good. The white portion of the eye should sort of fade over the iris rather than be a solid line. I suggest downloading and watching this: http://gnomonology.com/group/11 Its very informative on the anatomy of the eye and how to render it digitally. The software being used is Maya, but you can apply it to pretty much any 3D application.

It is a figure from DAZ. Now I study illumination and Subsurface Scattering (SSS). I yet was not engaged in eyes:)

Great job! I would really like to know how you import DAZ figure in XSI (with the textures)... trying this lately but nothing good coming out of it!

Yes. That would be good to know, how you imported the DAZ figure into XSi. On the eye, I see what they mean. However, there is one of Taron's renders with the eye very prominently displayed right now http://gnomonology.com/ and the difference is noticable but small. Anyway, excellent work.

Ive gotta get to learn my xsi rendering.Damn what a mission but the end goal as displayed here is worth it.I think the bump is a little intense on her cheeks and nose, maybe the yes could be scaled up a tiny bit.My remarks are only on my prefs and not meant to offend:)I like your stuff, cal
