Sorry to those who got the place-holder version, but I thought I might be able to squeeze in a "year end review" like I did last year, so I needed to get something in before the deadline.
As for the final image, admittedly there's no peril here, just a pleasant little garden, and a pleasant little elf.
For those who are interested I posted a nude version of this over at the other site a day or so ago (giving them clothes takes more time).
This was a chance to try out some toys and introduce my V4 version of my BEIP "Alis" character. Since the V3 version was a derivative of my "jolene" character, I wanted to go in a different direction for the face this time. Here I went for something of a Xenia Seeberg look in the face (sort of). In fact, this is the same face I used in my BEIP "The Offering" set. How can they have the same face? Let's just say I'll be sure to invent a convenient plot device to explain that away later (long lost twins!).
While there's some things I'd like to fix in the long run (like get the belt texture scale to match the top), over all I'd say it came out all right. The gentle DoF and the pleasant garden scene are my favourite parts of this one,

Real Comment: Spectacular shadowing. Outstanding face. The hair I think has its ambient and/or diffuse dialed up a bit too high. Otherwise, all around superb image!

Beautiful composition, colours, and placement of your character and camera in this scene- I did see the original partial render placeholder and I really had to hold back from some snide remarks about minimalism and "white space" :) - an execellent end of year render showing some serious skills buddy!
