Description
This is an immature White Crowned Sparrow, do you think that’s why he’s making such a mess, LOL. He’s standing in a knothole that I keep full of seed, must have been looking for something that wasn’t on top. As he reaches full maturity the gold bar and the lighter bars just above his eyes will turn white and the two darker brown bars will turn black. These birds are here year round but I see them more in the winter months foraging for seed dropped by birds eating out of the feeders, however this one seemed to like my knothole:-).

Oh, he IS making a mess. I bet he IS looking for something he wants. We have a parrot that does that also, LOL. We have a lot of these birds around and they are so cute to watch when they're on the ground scratching around like little chickens.
