Description

I know this is the end of the year and I wish to remember the ones that fought and die for freedom. I know too many people around the world do not understand what freedom is. It hard to think of something or tell some one what freedom is or what it not. I will not try here for I most likely fail to expain what freedom is and my idea may be off too. I know rules is in place to live by everyone. I know too if we was alone on a island we still not be free for we have to do things so we can live. So I know rules is diff from freedom. that all I got to say for now. thanks for looking and comments and votes too oh this was taken at pineville Nation Cemetary[miliary cemetary; the oldest one I saw was in the 1800's]

Freedom is the opposite of incarceration. It is the opposite of commitment to an institution. What is so hard about that? Must Machiavelli also tell us what it means to lose in defending your home city? Christ died to set men free. Who are these graves of pretenders?

Fantastic thought and shot, Jocko! I especially like to remember those long-ago soldiers from the Revolutionary War and Civil War. So many people forget about them.

A touching memorial to the brave men and women who lost their lives so that we can have a free voice. My older brother was in Viet Nam and even though he doesn't talk much about it, I know how much this impacts a soldier to be away from family and fighting. Bless them and keep them safe.

Really impressive… So many lives fallen, many of them for justice, but others too to enslave and/or steal people… To my opinion, freedom cannot be separated from a true justice, but both are definitely necessary for a decent condition. Freedom without justice means nothing, but justice without freedom is a brutal caricature. Thanks a lot, Jocko, for this beautiful shot so that we never forgot. Yesterday I have been really upset by this other dramatic image "Petite gamine 1944" (Little Girl), by the excellent poserist Acue, I will really suggest to all you friends to see it: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1574157

May I amke a suggestion to U; Need to lighten up the foreground about 20%, cause if u ever reproduce this Image it will Increase contrat by 10%, so U'll actually have it 10% lighter. U could make a poster from It saying, " What Cost Is Our Freedom ". Remeber Our Noble Veterans. Or something along thoughs line. We ALL, take Our Fighting Men and Women, in ALL the Armed forces for Granted. May they ALL be blessed by GOD and watched Over.

Freedom .. how DO you describe it? Yet when you lose it, you immediately know what you've lost. Marvelous picture, well done, well remembered.

That pictures speaks volunms. All the thank yous in the world can not even begin to express what I am feeling right now. My son will bo on a plane tomorrow heading back to Iraq...for the next year he is a priority. Its odd you watch them comr into the world, guide them. You give them the tools and skills they need and pray they heard them. No where does it say you prepare them for war His first tour there, I sent him knowing he had all the needing parts of his anatomy...yes I counted the toes and fingers as any new mom does. The was sent home maybe 6 weeks into his tour minus his ear drums and with a compression fracture; he keeps stating he's going to find his ear-drums. from the mom of two who serve...thank you so much.
