Description

G'day All! This is another view of St. Marks Church with its graveyard in it. I know some people may think its morbid but it's our history & very interesting looking though it & seeing the ages of these early settlers in which they passed. Hope you all saw the new year in well :) Thank you for viewing & commenting, much appreciated.... Take care Shane

Cemeteries are a cross between personal diaries and historic libraries. Love this shot.

Makes you think of how they lived during the early years and how things have changed since then. Hope your New Year Day was great. Aloha

Can you still read the stuff on the headstones? Some of the oldies around here are very worn by time/weather and so hard to read.

Nice shot of this--you don't see many old graveyards like this any more, unless you're out in the country or a small town, at least over here in the U.S.; I don't know how it is over there--maybe you see more of that. But you captured the whole scene quite nicely!

Not morbid at all Shane, it is a peaceful place, filled with history. A glorious shot of the church and churchyard. Top notch work, as always. Hugs. Di.

Although we live on opposite sides of the planet, my friend, our roots lie similarly in early colonialism. Our architecture may tend toward frame huts, but the USA has many similar scenes. A glorious new year to you and yours.
