Description

Second post from last Saturdays photo shoot at the Vance Avenue mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. Every baluster is hand carved and varies in size and length. I didn't count them but there must be at least a couple 100 of them, if not more, in order to span the three story spiral staircase. The first post Between Two Floors can be viewed here. Light source is from a skylight directly above on the third floor and from light filtered through the stained glass front door on the first floor. Some post work done by Marshall. See Marshall's gallery here for more photos of this amazing house. Thanks for stopping by. Make it a great day!

Intresting POV, I was at first thinking that they resembled crosses though closer inspection made me think of sword handles. Regardless, the dedication it took to create this work certainly shows. Its nice to see they are relatively well cared for. Thanks for taking the time to share your visit.
