Christo, my only wish is that sharpness was a bit more crisp. I shoot birds once in a while and understand the difficulties. Composition is great and I do like this image. This is a new bird for me to see. Thanks for this one.

It is a wonderful bird and quite different to the Kingfishers I know here. hugs Jane xx

Tom it is true the King fisher is difficult to photograph and one needs at least a 300mm or 400 mm lens to capture good bird photographs.I am equipped with a 150 mm lens and lenses are very expensive. So i must do with what i have. Thank you for all the positive comments everyone.

Great shot for having a 150 mm lens. I know it isn't easy even if you do have a 300 mm or more. I have never seen one of these before. Excellent capture for sure. Aloha

The volunteer, thank you for the positive comment.Birds are always difficult to photograph, they don't sit still ,they move around. But there is moments when one is lucky such as the Southern red bishop .It was so close to me in the bird hide ,if i stretched my hand out from the bird hide i nearly could have touched it. Regards, Christo.

What an amazing bird that is! You were so lucky to be able to capture him! His beak is even longer than the belted kingfisher, awesome!
