My name is Skip and I'm 61 years old. I live with my wife and granddaughter in Maryland, USA very near the Maryland/Delaware border surrounded by farmland. Beautiful and peaceful .. can't ask for more. We have 3 Maine Coon cats (Jessie, Gordon & Tia), 1 rescued cat (Artemis) and a beautiful little Sheltie named Sassy. I've been interested in art and images for as long as I can remember. The images, colors, the stories behind them have always fascinated me. Of course I'm one of those people who can't draw a straight line with a ruler. That has always frustrated me. Then about 10 years ago I came across an online group that made name tags using a program called Paint Shop Pro. Using images by others I began to create tags and letters but that just made me want to do my own images even more. Then I came across Bryce and through Bryce I found Poser and then Vue. I was hooked. For the first time I can actually make my own images. The more I learn the more I realize I've only just scratched the surface of this wonderful world of art. Finding Renderosity was amazing. All these people creating art, providing ideas and help and such amazing images! Awesome images! Hopefully I'm learning and my art is getting better. A whole new world is opening up and I love it.  ÂÂ
I'm a voracious reader. I read every day any time I have a few minutes available. I read for fun and because I love strong character driven stories. I read Science Fiction, Paranormal, Westerns, Fantasy, Romance, Mystery and pretty much everything in between. About the only things I don't read are biographies, history, reality. Reality is highly over rated and I much prefer fiction. (*S*)

Very cool though I would lighten it just a bit. Perhaps have the light showing up on her from the window. I love the pose and expression.

Wow..great lighting in this image...great sense of mystery and uncertainty...excellent render! Really like the fact that the low lighting hides some of the objects in scene...makes you imagine what is there! 5+

This is an image the really should be opened up full size. I have this as my background image on my computer. The lighting on this is intentionally dark. There are only 3 lights in this, two of them darker blue. The single light illuminating her face is coming from the left and is partially hidden below the table. You can see one of the blue lights in a small pool of light near her feet. I tried to get it to appear as if the only light was just a little moonlight coming in from the window and just the two candles on the table. Thank you, everyone for your comments. This is a learning experience. Skip

Ok, but if the light is supposed to come only from the moon and the candles, how can her face be so well lit ? Personally I'd make the whole scene slightly less dark with a main blue light coming from behind the window (using the window's frame to cast dramatic shadows) and increase the point lights placed in the candle flames. But maybe I'm too conventional. Your picture is a very good one nonetheless. Happy New Year to you !

I like the subtle lighting, seeing it full size it really does it better justice... I get the feeling there is a story to this one and its like she is hiding in the shadows, waiting... Great image...
