Description

The figures have followed a calculus of the root to understand what they did wrong. They have been hearing that music companies have been complaining about having too many CDs on the shelf when they take inventory each month. This has prevented them from purchasing new CDs from the music vendors. Nothing is missing. There are too many physical objects instead of too few. Loss management fails. There are no shoplifters to surveil with cameras and arrest as they sneak out the door. Even some pranksters have bought CDs at other stores and surreptitiously added CDs to the stock to throw the inventory off. No retail theft has occured. The police cannot be called. "Thou shalt not steal" has not been violated. But they are still not satisfied. The record companys contact them by media to report that what has happened is people have covetted not only the tunes but the valuable rights of the musicians to reproduce their art. Oh, they say a more sophisticated thing. Yes, say the music companies and in fact bogus CDs are showing up made by ripping original CDs and recording concerts surreptiously. The covetousness has occured and been objectified in material form. Ah ha! say the figures this violates. "Though shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife nor his ass nor his man servant nor his maid servant." That is us. We are man and maid servants indeed. We have been made off with and ripped onto CDs. Will we at some point be cloned into flesh? Is our very DNA being at this moment examined and our thoughts and prayers exploited by those who vex us and trouble us and then take back our failures to analyze how we solved them?

Splendid airplane and composition. Doing music videos for a number of indie bands makes me aware of the validity of your observations, my friend. I really like the depth of space you have achieved with this image.

We are moving to a system where the artist can connect directly with the consumer, the days of the "Middle men" are numbered. And they are scared $hitless. One day soon we will have a single box hooked up to a HD monitor, through which (On demand) we will get what we want, when we want, pay as you go, music, movies, games, internet..... When iTunes and Netflix can create new business models that crush the monster middle men, then future is only a click away. Remember when you could only buy singles? LP's were for the rich? Then in the 70's the record companies forced bands to put out LP's, and usually 2 maybe 3 songs were good, the rest crap? We are back to the days of singles. With iTunes, I no longer blindly buy a CD and hope its all good. I go online, go to iTunes, sample each song first. If I like the whole CD, I go out and buy it, if I only like 3 songs, I download just those songs... What's that sound I hear? Oh, just the claxon of doom for the middle man.... p.s. With the advent of the micro computer and sophisticated sound engineering software, artists now engineer and mix their own recordings in their own studios.
