Description
She stood at the precipice of the cliff, sword held out over the swirling waters. Power thrummed in the air. Thunder cracked so loud it shook the ground. A bolt of lightning shot from the clouds, striking the tip of the sword. The power of the water elements rushed threw her, filling her with its glory....
Anyway, I hope everyone has had a save and Happy New Years. We just hung around the house with the kids and watched the Ball drop ot Time Square and let the kids stay up late. LOL Sparkling water and munchies, sooo another hunred pounds for me. LOL

Did anyone make any New Years resolutions? Me, I'm trying to get back into doing art. It seems that every year at this time is when I start doing art again but then I fizzle out by march. This year I'm determined to stay on track and keep chugging along even if my muse takes vacation along with the kids. LOL

I'm gonna practice some more. I really love the ocean and always admire those who can paint it. I also tried a cloud tutorial but it came out awful so I settled for using Ron's fog brushes. LOL Thank God for little things. ;)

I for one LOVE IT!!! kind of reminds me of a feminine version of Zorro. I was once told by an art teacher when I was in Mexico on the beach trying to paint the vista before me. He stood over me and saw also my writing, asked to read it. Then said, "Instead of trying to copy what you see, let your hand follow what your imagination sees. If you want to paint water, then cover the page blue. If you want to paint the ocean, let your minds eye paint what it sees, much the same way you write" Once I relaxed and did that, I have to say, it came out rather well. At any rate it was a much different perspective than I anticipated. Or that I was trying too hard and he just picked up on it. We artist/writers etc are perfectionists at heart LOL.....she is gorgeous...and the crashing waves definitely have a raw and edgy effect that I find quite intriguing.
