Description
This is my neighbor John, heading out for a brief trip down the street in his kayak. Yes, we had a bunch o' rain yesterday, and it's still pouring here.
Captured through my kitchen window - What, you think I'd go out in that??

Shoot, I'm in Sacramento and I was out in that this morning - hacking, hauling, sawing and dragging all the wood that fell out of my trees in the 70 mph wind the day before. I guess we were some lucky in my part of town because we got advanced warning and the neighborhood all got out and cleaned the drains. Tomorrow I brace up the fence that came down. I can finish chopping up the limbs later this week after work...in the dark...and hope the storms back off enough for me to catch up on repairs from the last one.

I was out in it filling sandbags for a friend!! Fortunately, we didn't need them. I only got wet 3 times, that was the second. It was nasty yesterday for sure, you were smart!! Great shot, though, I'm glad you spotted him!!

Venice in San José? An excellent capture that it demonstrates the ecological imbalance that little by little leaves making but marked in our planet.....!!!!

Wow is some picture. I am out here in Rio Linda, Ca. or Sacramento, Ca. for you who don't know where Rio Linda. Sick with the flu and could not sleep and was awake in the early hours Saturday morning hearing all the wind blowing and guess it was 50 mph non stop and gust was a whole lot more. Sounded like the house was coming apart. Good thing too that they took care of the flooding that use to always come out this way because I bet this time it would of made it to the house. It always flooded out back and came up the street ans would be a block away. Got the creek that runs along the back here and they cleaned it out in 2000 I think. Then added another place that has pumps and a dam were added water goes. When they clean out in the creek the one worker said they was only use one of 3 or 4 pumps and that was why it always flooded here. Reason was Elkhorn Blvd thay most was only two lanes and they need to widen it because of all the added homes out here now and more to come so alot more cars. They let the flood go on for years. Then the Feds would no longer give money to the owners to repair and said ok this is it you can get the money but you got to rise your homes etc. or we will by them from you. Well I only see a couple homes still there and all the rest are now gone. So they let this go all these years so the value of the homes and land went way down so they could buy it up. Sad when it is your own Government doing this to you. But was happy that some others came over and picked up the yard of all the tree limbs so I thank them all.

I thought it had been raining here in Southern California. Went to the mountains for a weekend and miscalculated the amount of snow coming down. Spent an extra day because I did not have chains. I would not go out without a kayak myself. Very interesting picture.
