Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Fascinating! I'm still trying to figure out how those columns are formed. Remind me to ask you!

Fascinating information about those ice poles; a most unique shot, and very cool considering it's so cold in that tunnel, Marilyn! Oddly, the tunnel walls look like they're coated with green algae. And, your son looks so much like Rambo in this photo.

This looks like home. In Ouray, Colorado we intentionally build huge ice columns against the walls of the canyon with water sprinklers in order to host the annual ice climbing competition.
