Description

Background made in Vue X-stream and rendered in LightWave 9.3 -my usual way of doing things now-which makes it a LW picture I guess (Rewnderosity really should make a way of combining categories I think). The realistic motion blur is really nice on the 'Thropter wings-more like a hummingbird than was previously possible. The Keep is in the far distance.

hmm, I thought the Dune ships were called Thopters. Maybe my memory is failing me, its been so long. That aside, really nice job on the motion blur wings, hummingbird, dragon fly, whatever the simile, it completes the name by making it onimonopoetic. It would make a good animation.

Spectacular! I've been trying to model the original John Schoenherr Ornithopters for awhile now (as seen in The Illustrated Dune, and in his wonderful illustrations for Analog magazine) but I've never quite gotten them right. Yours are spot on! Beautiful, moody scene, very evocative of Herbert's descriptions of the deep desert.

Very nice. The thumbnail does not do justice to this very interesting and subtle image.
