Description
I dug through a stack of sketches and doodles to resurrect and modify a freighter design. Here it is, all modeled in Bryce.
I also decided to build a Jupiter system Bryce file from maps downloaded from the Celestia Motherload. Because I'm a stickler for details, I made sure the skins faced the right way - sub-Jovian meridian toward the planet, then made hidden "anti-moons" for each moon and grouped them, so I could "orbit" the moons around the planet by changing the Y rotation of the group. Only did the four big moons, though. But the view should be correctish (camera angle 15.5 degrees to make distant moons look bigger).
All but the background stars (a PSP experiment from last summer) and the signature modeled and rendered in Bryce.
Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Things were different when we came back to Callisto. On the run out to the Kuiper, to Varuna and back, the Captain kept us on a high efficiency run, about two-hundredths of a gee the whole way. Nearly eight months travel time and a month out there -- a voyage long enough to have a baby, but we still had cheap Jovian xenon in our tanks when we came back.
Seems a war broke out while we were gone. The Martians and the Belters are shooting each other up all the way out to Uranus. Callisto Station had been a busy place when we set off, but now, there's nothing on the scanners but a Martian frigate on patrol. We made a good profit on the run, but we were hoping to sell some of the Varunan goods to Belters. Looks like we'll have to dump them locally, now. And we've got fifty passengers headed for Vesta. They might be here for a while, since there's no neutral ship in port. There's a Loonie transport at Europa that might take them, but it's gonna cost a pretty penny.
Oh well, might as well enjoy our shore leave. I'll send you out a credit transfer once my share clears, but it might be a while until you see any more. Not sure where our next run will go. Or when.

Great story, excellent ship model and render.

As always, an interesting picture well-meshed--no pun intended--with the written word.

Incredible work! looks cool, very well modeled, super job! I found a plugin for Photoshop for starscapes called "Glitterato" by Flamming Pear that I think works for other photo-editors as well. It's worth looking at because it makes starscapes alot easier to do.

Excellent modeling as always and I really like the lighting on Jupiter and its moons. I do have a question though, since you are so far from the sun are the solar sails of any use at that distance? Also the lighting on the sails is a bit strange because it looks like the backside is illuminated which looks to be pointed away from the sun. Overall a very impressive picture as I always enjoy your work. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next…….. Cheers, David
