Description

This is a repost in color and wider view of a cloud formation shot in 2006. This is a Mammatus cloud. In more developed form, the clouds have a multi-breast look perhaps like the goddess Artemis of the ancient Greeks, known as Diana by Romans..hence the name mammatus. Call this one a preteen mammatus cloud. This shot is used in part for one of the forum banners and you may recognize it. The original post if you care to compare is at this place: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1190922

What an interesting cloud pattern. This is a really nice capture. Getting such clarity and vibrancy out of a cloudy day isn't all that easy!
