This is about as close as I wanted to get to this guy...he looks like he means business....

Awesome detail and focus!!! I just upgraded to an SLR with a dedicated macro lens but can't get this level of detail or focus on the face of a wasp, it is driving me crazy!

This yellow jacket either liked you or was not afraid of you. They are not that aggressive unless threatened, like any wild creature. This one is bright eyed and very curious as she checks you out, being the worrior that she is, far from the nest. She is probably hungry and thinks you have a treat. They love sugar. 5 star work. Excellent depth of field and exposure, along with perfect composition and angle. Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing. You are definately full of courage to get this close to a YJ.
