The black velvet, whisper soft tenor slid melodic through the still air within the seeker's chamber. The yearling on his arm stared through golden eyes, the silent communication between them as the vibrations of those words spoken heartbeats before still echoed off of the marble walls that encased the chamber itself. The sudden interruption of the eagle's vocalizations cracked, reverberated and echoed even as the wide span of feathered wings gave life to a breeze that lifted and played within midnight blue curls. Lungs took in the moist air that surrounded him as the silence blanketed The Eldest. Silently watching the winged figure slowly shrink and finally disappear out of sight. Only then would the intake of breath be released in what only could be explained as a sigh ... Why are you not answering me? Those words thrummed within his mind in that surrounding silence; a silence he took comfort in for the time he spent in it. Soon, hopefully, that question will be answered.
