Description

My parents got married in 1957, and this was my mother's engagement ring. She died in 1971, and the ring came to me when I turned 18. I wore it for several years, off and on. I have one niece (she would have been my mother's only grandchild) and on her 18th birthday, I gave her the ring. (You won't be surprised to hear she likes it!) Hard to believe this ring is now over 50 years old. (Harder to believe I'LL be 50 years old this year! LOL!) Shot macro, hand-held, outdoors, on a nice sunny day in August.

Sometimes it's good to be late; it's been fun to read all the comments before mine. Very pretty ring and a great story; I'm glad to see the ring is being passed on.

What a beautiful ring and story, and life just flies by doesn't it. it seems like yesterday I was a kid and now I am on the verge of hitting 50 myself.

1957 I was 13 years old and had nothing on my mind except trying to survive middle school and girls.outstanding ring and capture.certainly lots of memories.I think it means more to your niece since you gave it to her while you are alive.once a person is gone they have no use for anything of this world.since it was your mothers, it has more meaning of giving up a treasured heirloom

A beautiful shot of a beautiful ring and a lovely story, I am just ahead of you, 50 end of last year. Sylvia (who is one or two years ahead of me) says life begins at 50 she thinks it was wonderful to reach 50, well I'm waiting for it all to happen lol.
