Description

This is part of a scene I was assigned to create in my 3d Studio Max class -an Office. I decided to make it a Sheriff's office, ala' Gun Smoke. Now where is Matt Dillon? The stool, the jail cell and the bunk beds inside it, I didn't create -I picked them up here at 'rosity. the franklin stove, the desk and the mirror and the western chandlier I did create, along with the bilding itself. The volumetric lighting was part of the assignment. I'll be posting other scenes form this jail house in the days to come. You've yet to see the beautiful rifle-rack I made, in which I put all of Questor's western rifles. All textures are mine, from my Poser collection. Rendered in Max 9 and Postwork enhanced in Photoshop. Enjoy! DPH

A really interesting and rich scene. One thing that it is however urgent to improve is the ground that severely lacks sharpness. You have to replace it by a pavement of much higher definition (I can send you one if you want, but probably you can find others). Alternatively, you can set the number of tiles to a much higher number in X and Z, this will increase sharpness accordingly, but evidently this will result that the individual stones will be much smaller. Which however could reveal a benefit. 5 for the quality of the modeling and the assemblage.

Great work in Max - only comment would be it looks as if the furniture is not really on the ground - but who am I to say - I don't have 3DS - keep up the great work

This render is a cut above what I saw from you using Poser. It's the software, not you, but you've got it going, stay with it!

This is fantastic! I really like the stove! Are you planning on making the stove pipe appear to be sectional?
