Description

Another fav with me... is the Hollyhock. These are gorgeous, and can grow 3-7' feet tall. I've never had much luck growing them, but I try, every year. :) This picture was taken last summer up in St Cloud; at Lake George. Not that THAT means anything to you.. lol but its just a little park on the outskirts of a college town around here. They have ducks, swans, and flowers ... nice place to kick back. hope you are all doing well. Thanks for stopping by! Shari

Did you ever pull the hollyhock blooms apart, and replace the center upside down to make a ballet dancer? I would make lines of dancers in front of me in the dirt when I was little. My daughter had a different approach... she pulled the center out and sucked the sweet drop of juice from it. I love this old fashioned flower. And this is a lovely, dreamy shot.

I love hollyhocks too Shari, and likewise have difficulty growing them. They grow tall with fabulous flowers but they fall off just as soon as they bloom and all the leaves drop too, I really don't know why. I love what you have done with this image and given it a romantic misty hew - fabulous - hugs Jane xx
