Description

My entry for the Holiday Contest, it went fairly unnoticed but I still think it's good enough to get a place in my gallery. The balls are spheres with water as surface shader to achieve the reflectivity I wanted; light sources hidden in the center of the spheres make the festive lighting. Basically I tweaked one sphere (the light source was made part of the object) till I got the desired result and then made copies of the sphere and distributed them within the fir. A lot of juggling but a lot of fun too. The "snow" on the background trees was achieved by adding a white surface shader to the .TGO internals. Thanks for dropping by, comments are appreciated. Andy

Yeh, I thought "tomato tree" on first glance. But I like the lighting you've achieved in the tree. Snow on background trees doesn't have enough visual impact. I'm not sure how to apply a heavy layer of snow on tree boughs, but I think thick/deep layers of snow has probably been discussed on Planetside Forum. I applaud your experimentation here; keep up the good work.

Goes to show anything - almost - is possible with TG2. I echo WeeLaddie's applause. At least you are trying harder that I am with it.
