This whole thing started with some friends who are members of the Church of All Worlds, a real religious organization based on some of the concepts in Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land and named for Valentine Michael Smith's organization in the book. I'm a fringe member of their Nest, though not a member of the Church. I had told them that I had recently FINALLY read the book and that I understood them a bit better for it. I also mentioned that I had an eye toward making some shirts dealing with the concept of "grok" (a Martian term for understanding so deep that you basically sort of become what you are understanding and make it part of your integrated being). Thus ensued a rather lively round of puns based on the work "grok". This is but one of them that I've turned into merchandise for my Cafe Press store at the request of my friends so they can have shirts for the upcoming Beltain festival/camp-out. I will likely be doing a few more as time permits.
