Cool work so far. Now, the "wheel" part, is that to generate gravity for the crew or to buzz-saw into opposing ships or something? Or is it just because it looks cool and different?

The "Wheel" is just that - a wheel. This is intended as a land vehicle, a tank of a sorts.
