I want to thank everyone who commented and fav'd my last image. I am so honored and as always you boost my artist ego. Thank you dear people. :o)
Go down to the Green River where it meets the Lesser pond on a moonlit night and you just may see a wondrous sight. The Water Nymphs play a game of Moonbeams and Stars. They practice their skills of flying and darting across the water by trying to catch moonbeams and stars. Some are very adept at this game, others, well they hit the pond or the ultimate, a tree, but never fear, the Nymphs are resilient and maybe receive a bump or scratch. There have instances when one hits a tree hard and has to taken up to the Healing Witch. She fixes them up in a jiffy and they are back darting across the pond in no time. So I am told...
Once they catch a moonbeam or star it goes into a basket and the little field mice keep a tally. The game can go on for hours, but when it's finally over, everything is tallied up and the Nymph with the most moonbeams and stars gets to keep either a moonbeam or star for twenty-four hours and then it is sent on it's back to wince it came, because everyone knows, you can't keep a moonbeam or star. They would just fade away and not replaced and that would be sad not to have moonbeams and stars to play with or just watch.
So the next time the moon is full and you wake up from a sound sleep. Don't turn on the light. Go to the window and look out and you may just see a Water Nymph zoom past your window in pursuit of a star or an elusive moonbeam. If you are very clever, you may be able to catch a moonbeam of your own, it does take skill. But remember, you can only keep for twenty-four hours and then send it on it's way...so it has been told. :o)
