I was lucky to catch these fairly close when I was taking pics at the the new harbour construction site. Usually they are out on the mudflats and only come near the shore at highwater and then you need to be in a hide because they are nervous. You can see how well their markings break up the outline against the gravel.When sitting on their eggs in a small scrape in the gravel they are very very hard to spot. Excuse the small size of the pic, I am having a few problems with my pic resizing software.
