My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

All these flower postings, my hands are starting to itch, means it's time to plant SOMETHING!!!! These are so beautiful, so dainty, so delicate!!

I've always liked these. And been facinated with how flowers evolved to look just like a heart split open. Anyway, great shot.

Good heavens, such lovely flowers, but do they always hang down from a branch like that? Reminds me of bats in a cave. I had never seen nor heard of this species until this very moment. Really fascinating, with heart shaped petals that resemble sliced beets in color and texture. And dig those hanging participles, or pistils :). To use the current vernacular, this is really cool!

Low sneak factor/high beauty ratio! This is a great image, I love the vivid color and the sense of natural order here. The title of the piece evokes a lot of what is in this picture itself and causes the mind to wander into a world dominated by these flowers. The sense of color and the balance of shapes is beguiling, and all around, this is an utterly superb image.
