...only the second goldfinch I have ever seen, and the first time to see one in my own yard. Thanks so much for your views and comments!

I have no idea how you get so close. The best I've done with any bird has been so far away that it was but a speck on the lens. Excellent shot!

I agree with MrsLubner, I don't know how you did it. Any bird shots I have tried resulted in only a blur. :o) Excellent image!! It is a very pretty bird.

i`ve always fed the birds by hanging fat balls in the tree at the back of my garden but never got a lot of interest from birds except the sparrows and the odd blue tit .then a couple of months ago i invested in a bird table and some nut feeders and wow just like magic birds of all descriptions descended on my garden including finches :o)..an outstanding detailed shot maria mick
