Despite the fact that elsewhere on the Island you can find more fascinating mosaic’s, those from Kourion ( shown on this photo) are very, very pretty!!!
The ruins of Kourion are located on one of the most fertile spots in the island Cyprus, with extensive ruins and including well-preserved mosaics. Also of interest are the public baths, the Nymphaeum, the necropolis, the Fountain House, House of Gladiators and House of Achilles. The most spectacular site at Kourion is the Greco-Roman amphitheatre, or forum (see my previous upload)
The site gives a good idea of how it would have been in the 3rd century AD!!,
and is positioned high on a hill overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea.
