Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This is a fantastic presentation! The image is deliciously playful and I've been watching a lot of YouTube lately and this reminds me of some of the music videos that were so cutting edge in the 1980s. Now they're just...well...I don't know what, but OH, what a beautiful sense of vibrant color they all had! I kinda miss that sense of giddiness, but the image that accompanies your great words brings all of it back in a great way!

Oh heck, Marilyn...am just thinking about the arrival of Spring here and, oh, that's right...Mother Nature pruned my trees during the ice storms we've had here this Winter. All I have to do is clean up the mess she left behind...LOL. Enjoyed reading your words, much.

You've presented a very clear mental image with your words, my friend! I can see you up on that ladder, working, dropping things, cussin', fussin' and fuming! Good stuff!

A unique image accompanied by self effacing whimsy. Very clever, and well done, Marilyn. But what's this about dropping tools? Don't you wear a tool belt during your pruning chores? Climbing up and down that twelve-foot ladder can be quite enervating after a while.

This is like an explosion of creativity! I do too know about pruning trees, and I find your poetry very descriptive. GOOD GOOD GOOD!

Wonderfully descriptive words! There is a wordsmith in your soul! Try tying twine to the tools 6 inches longer than the ladder, they still fall but you grab the end fixed to your tool belt and haul them up! Make sure they can hit the ground so they don't haul you off the ladder!

Great words and very funny outlook on pruning tree ... but how true your words are. Tony ;-)

Yes, humor and truth. At least you are not "topping" them, that abismal practice of lopping off the long branches. A local tree cutter has a sign that says" "Topless trees are indecent". I like the writing..been there and you told it like it is.
