Last night on the History Channel here in the States, there was a two-hour program, "Life after People," in which the program surmised what would happen on Earth from the first day after all humans were no longer around (for no explained reason and apparently not linked to nuclear warfare) to a time 10,000 years in the future. The program showed the decay of cities and suburbs and guessed at how long massive structures such as the Sphinx and Hoover Dam would last (a long time at that). Basically, Mother Nature would reclaim the land where once stood tall skyscrapers and other signs of man's habitat. As I looked at your pagoda, I wondered how long it would last into the future had it been built out of concrete or steel. Wind and rain erosion would be the pagoda's death knell, probably in less than 150 years, I guess, since it is not a solid structure, having many openings. Meanwhile, it would be used by birds,rats, and other animals as their habitat, as man would not be around to chase them away from the site, and plant life, such as vines, would be abundant throughout the structure. But don't let this bother you, Dave. Keep on building them for our enjoyment.
