I picked this at random because everything I see is so fine, I just decided to jump in...your city is a kind of classic city-of-dreams, like the dream cities of the 19th C. (glass palaces, etc), and is rendered with not just exquisite detail, but shade & light and massing, along with the constant of domed roofs which of course have an organic feel (and harmonize with the bulbous balloons above). But of course you've soaked your image in deep amber pinks, whose inward glimmer saturate nearly everything even if subtly (as in the water), and your mountains and sky reflect it back as well. You have a few striking lights (the golden reflections of sunlight on a dome or the lights along the harbor), but you use them sparingly, allowing the natural glow of the city itself to speak; and the smoke from the boats is gentle, giving a kind of caress to the whole. Your waving person in the right corner 'caps' the piece, as if someone is waving to an entire metropolis, and your birds (opposite corner) draw the great distance to our foreground. This is a consummate piece, you are one with your reputation here, and shows a profound overview and inner eye. I'll be back for more...

I do like your fantasy scenes. There is so much in them.... Such a busy little port. I love the setting sun feel to it.

Wow--that looks a lot like the Monaco harbor (though in the future). It's structured very similarly. I just love all of your images, but have to say that this one keeps me interested and looking at details for a very long time. You are an impressive artist in many ways, and it would take a few pages to list all of the areas that I find merit in your work. Thanks for the continuity of excellence, as I find it enjoyable to experience.

How did I miss this? I sometimes come back to haunt your gallery because it has such a strong presence and all the images here are beyond compare and continually inspire me. I love the bustling warmth in this scene, so much activity--like a celebration, yet it has such an old world charm with the colorful haze that reminds me of hearth fires and the smells of great cooking. I'm not a city person, but I could live in a place like this. So much to see and experience. Another wonderful scene.

The wanderer returns to a warm welcome. Stunning image! Wonderful composition, color, and light! I love the glows in the harbor, on the buildings across the way, and the one small light in the doorway near the welcomer. Beautiful detail on the buildings and the smoke! Excellent image!

An exceptional creation Peter - the sky full of birds and balloons, the old ships and docks, the lighthouses and the expansive city! Excellent artwork my friend!
