Description

Hello all! I am soon out of mossy shots, time for a walk perhaps.. :) If any of you know what these stretchy thingys are, then please enlighten me. They grow from the moss, so I assume they are some sort of flowers or seeds? My memories from the exact moment in biology-class when they told us about the life cycle of mosses are not razor sharp, I have to admit. But I do recall it was quite complicated.. Take care, everyone! Weekend is soon upon us. :)

It is called a sporophyte. It grows from a fertilized egg and the capsule at the end of the stem (seta) contains spores. When the capsule opens, the spores float away on the air and where they land and take root, a new moss grows from it. Now you know.
