Joyce Kilmer. 1886–1918 Trees I THINK that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the sweet earth's flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, 5 And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. 10 Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.
~~~~~~Always a favorite poem of mine. Nice capture and pleasant thoughts for a winter morn~ Deb~TwoPynts
Why this tree? It is a nice one though. I think I'd like to be an evergreen -- never lose my leaves. Or better yet, a palm, and always enjoy the warm weather!
Awesome capture,composition and poem. Beautifully done. A perfect choice of a tree - new clothes every year.
Lol, TwoPynts, because it was late and I was being silly, if I had to choose it would probably be an Orange or a Eucalyptus tree, because they remind me most of 'home' (California) And Deb, I saw your comment on my bridge photo, and if you would like directions I can send them to you, heck I'll even meet you there, I want to go back in the spring to see the colors. You would pass right by the barn and horse that I posted pictures of. Thanks for your nice comments. barn:
Being as sick as I am...I see a portrait of "Eve" undressed down to a fig leaf. And being "Adam" I stand there just waiting for the next gust of wind to come and completely undress her. Nice picture love....smiles
