Description
Created using Mike 2.0 with the Daz Creature pack. Bryce5 for all Terrain. Very little touch-up with Corel Photopaint 9. Trying to get a little better at this 3D stuff.

"Trying to get a little better at this 3D stuff" - this is actually quite good. love the pose, and the general concept. the lighting could use a bit of work - hes a little too dark for the background. if you want a moody piece, id suggest darkening up the background significantly, with darker edges and a slightly lighter centre area to silhouette him and draw the viewer's eye to the subject. you might also try simulating some depth of field by blurring the background slightly, this will further bruing the character out. keep in mind that in a character study like this, everything in the image should serve to bring out your character, nothing should detract from him. a bright background makes the eye wander. cheers, -gabriel

I like this piece. I agree with much of what Blackhearted says, but I will add my two cents and say that your well-posed gargoyle figure could use a bit of bump mapping to sharpen the detail. Excellent effort. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, I'll try all that. Doing 2D commercial work is detracting from my 3D skills at the moment, but I'll keep pressing onward.
