Longgggg-standing interest in photography, first class in high school in the 60's, but was too expensive a hobby until my first digital camera about two years ago. Now I'm more prolific. :-D I am BRAND NEW to computers, so any advice on image enhancements probably should wait until I learn how to click, double-click, and drag...
I enjoy taking landscape shots and shots with a historical context, especially around Kittitas County, Washington.
The portraits in my icon and homepage image were taken last winter by the woman who is known here at Renderosity as PumaWalkingSoftly (aka Windchime Photography), thanks Laura!

so they got the groups together for a foto shoot before burying them?only joking. I suppose you heard about why cemeteries or so popular?people are dying to get in I can imagine how old some of the graves must be.an old grave here locally dates from the mid 1800's to present

For those of you interested in graves, try http://www.findagrave.com/ to see some history. It is an interesting site. Some of the engravings on the headstones are quite entertaining, especially those that go back 100 years, or more.

Great shot, pity you could not have taken it in portrait mode as we can almost read the words, I think if you had done and got that bit closer we could have read every one. It's still and excellent shot and a nice bit of information. I too like walking about in old graveyards, just reading some of the inscriptions on the headstones. Bravo!!!!!

One of my many hobbies is genealogy. This summer my son and I visited many a cemetary. We have some funny stories, but we were on the hunt for a distant cousin to my son. She was buried in a small public cemetary on someone's private land. Most of the tombstones were neatly kept but the nearby farmer said Mildred was buried in the back through the thicket. We found her, and snap the shot. We had a great trip thru the back roads of Kentucky. This is a great shot.

cemetaries are interesting places to visit when there are old graves to see and read the dates and how people died, i am going to visit some of ours soon but have to take someone with me as it isnt safe by myself as there are what we call 'park people' that live there, mainly half cast aboriginals that drink and sleep in the cemetary and they can be some what scary at times
