Description

Also known as Upper Horsetail Falls, this waterfall is on Horsetail Creek in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Oregon. It drops about 100 ft (30m) and, as you can see, the trail goes behind the falls, offering many photographic opportunities. I've posted two other shots of this one, here and here. Just downstream is Horsetail Falls, dropping the final 176 ft (53m) to a scenic turnout along the old Columbia River Highway. We had freezing rain today, and snow is promised for tomorrow, so I went looking for some green on my hard drive. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

I find this so interesting. I like the narrow plume. Its very different and you got so much of the falls and surrounding area in this great shot.

That looks like a great place to visit. And you can walk behind it. How neat. Don't think I've seen one close to me that you can go behind like that. Good shot.

I'm glad you found your green and shared it with us. I enjoyed comparing it to the other two pictures and getting the different points of view. The people in this one really allows us to see how large this is. Great shot!

Gorgeous waterfall, and it's well named! I'm glad you went rummaging. This is just beautiful! We had sunshine yesterday. The storm totally missed this area. Sometimes being in the convergence zone is a GOOD thing (but not usually)!
