Description

Yesterday while I was out taking these photos I was all of a sudden struck with a serious allergic reaction to something in the air. So I only managed to get these six photos

I hope you are better after your bad reaction David! These look like the male catkins of the hazel tree (Corylus avellana), which are sometimes called lambs tails - not to be confused with the parasitic weed that climbs up trees and strangles them and is also known as lambs tails. Your allergic reaction could have been to the pollen given off from these male hazel flowers, which usually start flowering in early spring but seem to be growing earlier and earlier now in the UK. It might be best to avoid these wooded areas for a couple of weeks until the pollen has subsided!

Sorry you took a bad reaction, hope it hasn't continued. These look very pretty dangling here, I like the depth.
