Description

Who says a junkyard can't be artistic? (I'm trying to convince myself here.. hehe) We went away this weekend and decided to kill some time at a huge antique place in Lakeville Minnesota called Hot Sam's Antiques & Furniture. What a place it was! I'm not into antiques, but some of the stuff there was pretty neat. I kept wanting to take pictures of all the stuff they had lined up along the driveway and there was so much outside around the buildings and inside. Talking to the lady of the house was very interesting. She's buried up to her eyeballs in Sh-tuff, it was overwhelming, trying to take it all in. Here's just one of the many old cars she had outside the place. A 1951 Hudson Pacemaker. It was an old cop car ... I kinda liked the contrasts with the snow. Hope you had a nice weekend. :) Shari

Junk? Not at all, it is a reflection of times and values lost in the snow. Very symbolic and not just a contrast on paper.

Wonderful image! It brings back memories to me, too, only I never had to ride in one of those cop cars. Maybe saw one on TV, or something. ;o) hehe....

For an unknown reason I missed this image (may be I'm more attracted by animals, portraits or landscapes..?!) Indeed, your composition is very artistic... kind of modern painting + full of atmosphere ! Congratulations, Shari for your selection in LWitG (Last Week in the Gallery – week 05-2008 ) !
