Description

The Times They Are a Changing The latest generation to come of age in America has--like all those which proceeded it--a few faults; however, I find an awful lot to appreciate and admire about them. One thing that I've observed is that they seem to be a lot more color blind than any generation before them. Racism and bigotry are still very much alive in this country, but I think it is finally starting to recede. This generation doesn't seem to think in terms of Black, White, Yellow, Red very much at all. Everywhere I look, I see young couples of every conceivable racial and cultural combination. It isn't just a temporary fling, either. They are getting married, having babies, and raising families. The funny thing is that sometimes the parents of the couples are bigoted in range from mild to very. Once the grandchildren come, they always seem to make an exception to their core beliefs. It's like a crack in a dam. Once, it starts, the entire dam will collapse. Oops! There goes another racist perception; then another and yet another. I think it is wonderful! But then, both of my children were adopted; my daughter is Korean and White, my son is Mexican, Native American, and Black. One of my stepsons had a relationship with a wonderful Comanche woman. My extended family has married Indians from India, and a number of other ethnic groups. My own personal view is that we are all one race and we are all related. I've always felt that way and now the scientists are saying that the genetic records shows that that is exactly the case. I love that diversity in oneness, or is it oneness in diversity? A lot of people say "Blood is thicker than water." Maybe so, but I've found that sons and daughters and grandchildren of the heart are equally bonding. I honestly do not think of my children as anything but my children. Terms such as "adopted" or "daughter-in-law" are meaningless to me. If my son marries, he gains a wife and I gain a new daughter of the heart. And in the end, whether we get our children through the usual biological process or by the process of adoption, what holds us together is that heart business. Ultimately, all our children are children of the heart. Thanks for looking and thanks for listening. Comments appreciated. Jeremy CREDITS: Poser 6, Bryce 6.1, PhotoShopPro 5. Good one Jeremy, and very true..I myself, have been educated in a school with 52 different nationalities attending...no chance to develop something like racism. Coming back to Germany, at the age of 18, i was stroke by how narrowminded people still were. But over the decades, the borders slowly dissolve, and the internet eg, helps a lot. Have a look how good people get along here....but then again, most artists are openminded by nature lol,Fine statement you gave here and reads like a good living you have ;) By the way, most of the time someone asks me where i come from i say: I`am Earthling ...loooool greets from a human friend Dj

You speak powerfully my friend. It is not about blood but relationships. There are many 'blood' parents and grandparents who do not live up to the role and title. However, like you say, there are many who live up to the title of parent and grandparent purely because of the relationship they have with those in their care. That is where the magic is, and that is as you say, where the heart is. Nice work Jeremy.

Once you let yourself get to know them, people are people. Some are good, some are bad, some are middle of the road. Some you hit it off with, some drive you nutso. :O)

I don't know which I like better? The commentary, which I agree with, word for word. Or the image, which by itself is beautiful, but also is the perfect thing to match the text. I guess I love them equally!! Bravo!
