This is where it starts... I have this resin upper hull of a Shadowsword. It was manufactured in 1990 by a company called Armorcast under license by Games Workshop. Back then, "GW" wasn't really big on plastic vehicle models and most vehicles were made other companies, kit-bashed (combining parts of different models), or scratch-built (modelling from plain pieces of plastic, wood, metal, etc). This piece came in a kit with an entire BaneBlade model. The 1990 cost was $70. It was designed to be able to switch out upper hulls so the tank could be a Baneblade or a Shadowsword. I commited the kit to be a Baneblade, but I've always wanted to have a Shadowsword too. Therefore, 18 years later I'm going to attempt another go at scratch-building the rest of the tank with only minor modifications to the resin parts pictured. Details to tank will come from various GW bitz old and new as well as some 1/35 scale WWII tank models. I hope all you treadheadz out there enjoy the documentation of the project...
