My baby...luv my Jeep 4x4.Ă‚Â Do I take it rock-crawling and off-roading?Ă‚Â Hell no... No way, no how...... Ă‚Â
I have been working with 3D digital programs for about 6 years time.Ă‚Â My first experiences with the world of 3D digital art were Terragen and a terrain generator program called World Machine.Ă‚Â After learning Terragen, I moved on to Bryce where my major interest in creating landscapes, SciFi and interior space renderings now lies.
Other programs which I experiment with and use are Vue7, Apophysis and Incendia.Ă‚Â Postwork tools I usually use for enhancing the original renders are PSPĂ‚Â Pro X, PhotoScape 3.3, Paint.Net, MGI PhotoSuite and FastStone Image Maker.Ă‚Â Occassionally I also enjoy taking photos with my Nikon S52 Digital camera.Ă‚Â Here at Renderosity you will find works of mine using all of these mediums.
As an artisan, I have always had a deep love and respect for architecture, especially modern and future design development.Ă‚Â You will see that reflected in some of the 3D renderings here in my gallery.
Originally, I'm a Northeastern United States native (anthracite coal region)....half Welsh, half Bavarian in ancestry.... and live some 1,400 feet (about 475 metres) above sea level in the Appalachian mountain chainĂ‚Â along with my Shih-Tzu, Max and my cat, London.Ă‚Â However, I prefer the lure of the beach and ocean and especially love the Chesapeake Bay region of the East Coast.Ă‚Â Ă‚Â
Take a few minutes to look thru my gallery and leave a comment or two if you like.Ă‚Â Everyone here at Renderosity is unique in their work and individual abilities. Ă‚Â Personally speaking, I have been blessed with the friends I have made from around the world and for being a part of this community for the past 5 years. Ă‚Â

COOL TERRAIN

Wow, as I said in previous comments, reddy brownish coloured rocks are my favourite type of terrain so I love this one. I like the sense of scale of being down in the canyon and think that applying a space sky rather than the usual earth one is marvellous. Excellent work Keith. Tony :-)

Very cool!!!

Nice stepping up into the higher ground from the dark, mysterious pool. Nice lighting falls downwards over the rocks, but doesn't quite get to the water - only reflections disturb the pool. Relaxing.

I love when one thing leads to another, when we see beyond what's right in front of us. This is stunning, the water seems so deep, so real. The sense of night and mystery here is wonderful.

Very nicely done--stepped landscapes are always difficult for me but you have done a great job in this image. I also like the textures that you have used. Bravo!!

Hi. Nice idea. I have a few pointers though: The textures need work. I have said a few times to people, when doing mountain scenery, especially the background mountains, I found the easiest and most effective way of increasing scale and realism with a texture is to simply up the XYZ scale of each ABCD material which creates the parent material (if that makes sense...) The other thing is that the planet looks too close to the scene. If you enlarge the planet a very great deal and throw it far back, it creates a more believable planet. And last, if this is a canyon surrounded by sheer rock walls, the water would be dead still, espescially on a clear night... I hope you dont take any offence. Sorry if you knew these techniques already.. Hope you find this helpful. Cheers man. J

This is in response to JordanHolmes comment. When someone assumes they can redesign my intent with a render, then they should have the work in their gallery to back it up. I didn't see any. I much appreciated the suggestions and I sent a site mail acknowledging them with a thank you for the suggestions. What do I get in return but my exact site mail, I assumed, as a meagher response that it was received and read...nothing else. If you took the time to do a 9 line dissertation on how you think I perceived my own work, then you could have at least put a return comment on my original site mail. Perhaps getting one's head out of the water a bit more, would reduce the swelling of it a bit. This site is primarily devoted to amateurs who enjoy working in various mediums and sharing their creations with others. Yes, critiques of renders are most welcome, however, back it up with work, and don't assume you know what mine or anyone else's intent was with regard to a particular render. Must one detail the description of the render so that because it included a bit of a ripple on the water, perhaps a fish jumped or a rock fell from the cliffside to cause the ripple? Again, thanks for the info you shared, it was well received; however don't try and make yourself out to be THE authority on everyone's work. Oh, and usually when one adds the comment, "I hope you don't take offense," that only tells me one is convering their own____!

G'Day Keith: First I gotta thank you for my morning LOL, to wit your response up thar. Ummm, I cannot tell you how much I used to get stuff like that, it's sad & makes my --- tired when certain individuals allow misguided egocentricity to govern their behavior; a case in point is the dude who named himself after the 3D software we both use. Here's a tip from my therapist days: "Lack of any reinforcement of undesirable behavior; leads to that behaviors extinction", the approach requires patience; however it's more spiritually satisfying than engaging in other's "basement behaviors". Anyways, this's excellent render & a coincidental one, which you'll appreciate later today. Hope you're having better weather than moi, I'm sick of this -37 stuff.~Stephen~
