thought I should get around to doing some anatomy studies. The reference was found on cgtalk, in the 15min sketchathon reference thread.

again, fine work with charcoal or pencils (forgive, I can't tell which, from the size)...you got her muscles & spinal column with simple bands of dark and lighter shadow, while the grain gives real life to the shadows...and I really like your shading under the arms and chin (dramatic). You also get strong detail in the hair while still leaving it sheet of quiet blacks & grays. There is something so fine about simple 'monochromatic' anatomy drawing, how the artist articulates space with the subtlest use of charcoal or graphite, and how it can speak and even sing. It's drawing at its most elemental, yet it gives the artist the chance to sing so sweetly, which this does. Poetic drawing, and your background is nicely divided into shaded and white. Simplicity in all things, but complex.
