Description

This is a very interesting custom-made collector! It was done starting from a rare 30-year old Renault 4x4 Sinpar pickup truck, fully restored and transformed to take tourists, by the skilled Senegalese welders. In spite of the crude aspect of this offroad bus, you travel much more comfortably than in the so-called Cars Rapides. However, if you like photography, and especially if you have a digital SLR (with the bad habit to change lenses), there is a lot of dust here, blown off the Mauritanian desert, as you can see in my pict. I took this photo, thinking to people wo want original 3D models to put in comic adventure projects, this can be a good source of inspiration (hey, I would appreciate to get one if you model it…). If you like this pict, and if you have not seen the 5 earlier ones of this series, you should particularly appreciate this one: Senegal cars 5 – Cars rapides (Rapid buses)

Techdata: Nikon D70 with Nikkor 4-5.6/70-300 ED at 90mm, ISO 200, aperture-priority automatic, 1/500s at f/10. No postwork except for some cropping and contrast enhancement. Taken from a car in movement through the window.

Do not miss my next posts of this African series, there will be new ones soon!

Actually I think, that the dust fits very good into this shot. Everything looks very dry, so It very fine with the dusty atmosphere.

Wow! Thanks for posting this fine photo Edouard ... nicely shot. When I first opened this, I thought the bus was specially fabricated at the factory of origin. I'm impressed at the quality of work on this by, ostensibly, local labor. The carvings on the side of the passenger area are really outstanding too. I see that they take pride in their work. BTW, I could tell you horror stories about what fine sand can do to an SLR camera. :-)

A source for inspriation? Very much so! My next graphic novel will be in exotic places and such references are a great thing! I like the setting and vehicle! A great model subject, this road experienced truck!
