Looks more like rusty metal than stone. I think the intensity of your bumpmap and size of the texture map are really throwing off the scale of this head. With the texture the size it is now, the head looks like it's about the size of a golf ball. The DOF is also contributing to the confusion with scale.

I agree. The texture IS very good, but the scale is a little out of wack.

I'm still doing spheres with strange little spikes coming out of them in 3DS max(day 2 working in 3D for me). But I know artistically your concept was cool!
