Rock Cliff Top Mountain
Vue6 xStream
Scotts Pine
Crawling bush
White Birch
Spectral Atmosphere using GA
And a mix of landscaping materials that I modified to suit my own taste.
Also, my goal here was to try and learn how to make better rocky edged cliff and such that stick out of a mountain top/side, as I have been thoroughly inspired by the works of Bigbraader.
Thanx for your inspirational works, BTW.
I really want to work even harder at learning how to make those fantastic cracks he makes in all his works all the time and I'll get there soon.
Anyway, this was just a mess around test and I had no real plans before hand, I just played and ended up having fun with materials and eco layers.
3 total eco layers for total control.

Very well done. The procedural mat you made makes that rock at the top very realistic. Nice planting also. Beautiful image.

Thanx all :) And to think I just started this as a mess around test LOL Well, that and to show what a bug I found looks like in Vue6 so I could report it, but once I seen that my scene was starting to look good, I didn't want to wreck it with some bug issue hahaha LOL Once I started playin though, well, you know how Vue6 is, you get all into things and forget about time and everything else around you. My main goals in the scene were to make the rock cliffs jett out from the mountain top/side and look angled like it might where tectonic plates are coliding. And then I wanted to mix up my trees and other plant types and work with only the meterial Editor instead of painting the ecos on and I found great control with just using the functions and most importantly, the Environment Tab to set the growth/altitude limits, which rules! And lastly, I wanted to make an atmosphere that would look as though it had rained recently somewhere a behind the mountain some miles away and then the little fapors that come up to mkae those little puffy funky clouds from the freshly rained ground. I thought I might make a basic tutorial for this, if anyone wanted me to?

not bad at all. good show of ecosystems and rock material on terrain. i would change the sky though, feels a bit artificial to me:)
bigbraader
Well done. Very nice landscape/terrain work and great eco. Super effect with the cloud shadows on the ground. A very believable piece.

Thanx, and I still hope to learn how the heck you make those awesome cracks and such in your rocky mountain terrains? I know you sent me that sample images, but I would prefered to have the actual scene file so that I could examine how you actually set all that up. Isn't there anyway you can do that for me, even just a tiny simply hill that has the texture for that in it, would be more then plenty to figure things out. Guess I need to setup my ICQ and look you up, but like I mentioned before, our time zones are completely different and trying to be online the same time you are would be hit and miss. Anyway, thanx for the comments and I'm always welcome to crits too. Just like stalkeron crit'd my clouds, that was ok, even if I don't think there is anything wrong with them, it's still good to hear people's opinions, as it keeps you on your toes. I was really trying hard for nearly an hour just to make those clouds, beleave it or not, as I wanted a certain look though. That just after rain kind of clouds. .......md :)
