Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. Never seen one of these lava trees....... but they are quite intriguing and very evocative indeed! Lovely textures, shapes and colours are unique and original.... a superb composition, with a wonderful title.... very meaningful, my friend! :)

Never knew Lava could form like that! How do you think it could get that way? Wow!

Lava trees are formed when fast moving lava flows around a tree. The cool and moist trunk causes the lava to crust around the tree. When the flow is short lived, it drains off leaving behind standing lava trees. Aloha
