Description

My first image after a long time. I was trying to get a gras surface with shaders only. I know it is better to work with objects but it was just a try ;)

Great use, also with shaders only it looks very close to 3d, very cool!

Thx for the comments. I used a power fractal shader for the gras layer.

Very good shot, a little higher level render detail would do a world of good though, maybe a darker blend of of greens aswell? I've done a tutorial on planetary grass coverage in TG2 using shaders only. It's very quick to render, I'll post the link if it's any use to you... http://stonefingeriiii.googlepages.com/t2grasstutorial The full .tgd for the image on display is in the download at the top of the page, I've since refined the setup though and there is more variation to the grass that I use now, I may update the tutorial at some point but for now it's all I have uploaded. Hope it's a help, it's really very simple, and it incorporates a mud layer aswell beneath the grass. dandelO.
